Baz ("we," "us," or "our") is a WhatsApp-based AI agent and business directory serving the Haitian diaspora community. This policy explains what information we collect when you use Baz, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

Information We Collect

When you interact with Baz via WhatsApp, we collect:

• Your WhatsApp phone number
• Your WhatsApp display name (if provided by WhatsApp)
• The content of messages you send to Baz
• Your approximate location (inferred from your area code, not GPS)
• Your language preference
• Timestamps of your interactions
• World Cup predictions if you use the PARI feature

We do not collect payment information, passwords, or any data beyond what you send in your WhatsApp messages.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to your messages and provide business directory results
• Remember your language and location preferences across sessions
• Improve search results and recommendations
• Send you relevant updates (such as World Cup match results) if you have engaged with those features
• Analyze usage patterns to improve the service
• Track business impressions for our analytics dashboard

Third-Party Services

Baz uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Meta / WhatsApp Business API — message delivery and infrastructure
• Anthropic Claude API — AI-powered message understanding
• Supabase — secure database storage
• Railway — application hosting

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We share only the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

Data Retention

We retain your conversation history and preferences for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

Message content sent to the Anthropic Claude API is processed in real time and is not stored by Anthropic beyond their standard retention policies.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Opt out of broadcast messages at any time by texting STOP

Children's Privacy

Baz is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Baz after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
